Belton, TX- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team beat McMurry University 5-0 Friday afternoon in Belton. The Cru defense kept the War Hawks scoreless and limited the War Hawks to just eight shots in the match. The UMHB men improve their record to 7-3-1 overall and 6-3 in American Southwest Conference play. The loss drops McMurry to 1-12 overall and 1-8 in ASC play.
The Cru took a 1-0 lead when
Kyle Dickey scored a goal assisted by
John Williams at the 4:38 mark. UMHB took a 2-0 lead when
Trevor Shoppach headed a goal assisted by
Chris Torres.
Taylor Bates then responded with another goal assisted by
Trevor Shoppach and
Kyle Dickey at the 45:21 mark.
John Williams scored the fourth goal at the 53:33 assisted by
Kyle Dickey.
Kevin Johnson gave the Cru a 5-0 lead at the 83:56 mark to complete the scoring. Johnson's goal was assisted by
Jeremy Bowler. The UMHB men had 14 total shots on the day compared to the War Hawks eight.

Adam Cecil contributed two saves for the Cru.
Taylor Bates and
Alex Perez both contributed two shots for the UMHB offense. The Cru will be back in action with a 3:00 PM kickoff time against Hardin Simmons for the final home match of the regular season.
