Belton, TX- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team beat Hardin Simmons University 1-0 Saturday afternoon in Belton. The UMHB men improve their record to 8-3-1 overall and 7-3 in American Southwest Conference play. The loss drops Hardin Simmons to 6-4-3 overall and 6-2-1 in ASC play.
 
The Cru took a 1-0 lead when Tyler Wicks scored at the 79:12 mark of the second half. Trevor Shoppach had five shots while Tyler Wicks contributed two. Goal keeper Adam Cecil had two saves for the Cru defense. UMHB had 12 total shots compared to the Cowboys eight.
 
Matt Pitcock and Chris Hunter both contributed two shots for Hardin Simmons. Cowboy's goal keeper Logan Waters had eight saves. The Cru will be back in action with a 3:00 PM kickoff time against Howard Payne in Brownwood on Tuesday, October 15th
