Women's soccer falls to Hardin-Simmons 4-0

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer fell to Hardin Simmons 4-0 Saturday afternoon in Belton. The loss drops UMHB women to 4-9-1 overall and 4-6 in American Southwest Conference play. Hardin Simmons improves to 9-0 in conference and 12-1 overall with the victory.
 
The Cowgirls would take a 1-0 lead when Brittany Vacca scored at the 9:03 mark of the first half. Courtney Cramer scored the second goal off an assist from Shannon Byrd at the 14:29 mark. Cramer's goal completed the scoring in the first half. Miranda Bersosa took a total of six shots while Taylor Thigpen and Vacca both contributed for the Cowgirls.
 
Hardin Simmons took a total of 27 shots compared to the UMHB women's three. Miranda Bersosa scored at the 64:17 mark and was assisted by Vacca. The Cowgirls would take a 4-0 lead when Bersosa scored off an assist by Katie Kuykendall at the 69:00 mark to complete the scoring for Hardin Simmons.
 
Taylor Bullock, Kacie Tuttle and Tori Seiler fired the only three shots for the Cru. Goal keeper Meredith West had nine saves for the Cru. The UMHB women will be back in action on Tuesday, October 18th to take on Howard Payne University. There will be a 1:00 P.M. kickoff time in Brownwood.
