Volleyball falls to U.T.-Dallas 3-0

Richardson, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team dug itself an early hole and could not claw its way out as the Cru lost a 25-16, 25-20, 25-17 decision to U.T.-Dallas Tuesday night in Richardson. The loss drops UMHB to 16-7 overall and 11-4 in American Southwest Conference play on the season. The Cru also falls two games behind the Comets with two ASC matches left on the schedule. UTD improves to 18-4 overall and 13-2 in ASC play on the season with the victory.
 
UTD outhit the Cru .330 to .120 in the match and the Comets had 7.0 team blocks compared to just 3.0 for UMHB. Tina Miller topped the Cru with 11 kills and Kaydie Cochran and Kimberly Smidovec added six kills apiece. Morgan Baker and Anissa Garcia had 11 digs each and Garcia also led UMHB with 27 assists. Baker also added two service aces.
 
Dana Hilzendager led the Comets with 14 kills and Halea Williams chipped in with 11. Hayden Higgins topped UTD with 21 assists and Amy Gunter's 14 digs led the team.
 
UMHB will now return home to close out the home portion of the schedule with a pair of home matches this weekend. The Cru will face LeTourneau University in a 7:00 PM start on Friday before closing out the weekend with a 6:00 PM start against East Texas Baptist on Saturday at the Mayborn Campus Center.
