Men's soccer beats Louisiana College 5-1

Pineville, LA – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team took a first-half lead and stretched it out from there as the Cru rolled to a 5-1 victory over Louisiana College Thursday night in Pineville, Louisiana. The UMHB men improve to 6-2-1 overall and 5-2 in American Southwest Conference. Louisiana College falls to 2-8-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the ASC with the loss.
 
John Williams would score off an assist from Chris Torres 32:04 into the match to give UMHB the lead. Garrett Graham's unassisted goal 2:16 later gave the Cru a 2-0 lead. Torres pushed it to 3-0 off an assist from Colton Carlisle 5:36 later. Louisiana College would cut it to 3-1 just before halftime, but the Cru added a pair of insurance goals in the second half. Torres scored his second goal off a Taylor Bates assist and Kyle Dickey converted a penalty kick to close out the scoring.
 
UMHB would outshoot the Wildcats 21-11 in the victory. Adam Cecil had eight saves in goal for the Cru.
 
The UMHB men will close out the road trip with a 3:00 PM kickoff at Mississippi College on Saturday. The Cru will then return home to host McMurry University and Hardin-Simmons in the final home matches of the season next weekend.
