Pineville, LA – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team took an early lead and never let up as the Cru women rolled to a 4-0 win over Louisiana College Thursday evening in Pineville, Louisiana. The UMHB women improve to 3-7-1 overall and 3-4 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. Louisiana College falls to 0-12 overall and 0-7 in the ASC with the loss.
Briana Alston opened the scoring off an assist from
Taylor Bullock 27:56 into the match. Alston would score again, this time off an assist from
Jordan Powers less than four minutes later to push the Cru lead to 2-0. Bullock would use a Powers assist two minutes into the second half to stretch the lead to 3-0. Alston would connect off another Bullock assist in the 62
nd minute to provide the final margin of victory.
UMHB outshot the Wildcats 30-4 in the victory.
Erica Harris had two saves while posting the shutout in goal for the Cru. Emily Breaux had 18 saves for Louisiana College.
The Cru women will close out the road trip with a 1:00 PM start at Mississippi College on Saturday. UMHB will then return home to host McMurry University and Hardin-Simmons next weekend in the final home matches of the season.
