Clinton, MS – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team surrendered a first-half goal and could not find an answer in a 1-0 loss to Mississippi College Saturday afternoon in Clinton, Mississippi. The loss drops the Cru to 6-3-1 overall and 5-3 in American Southwest Conference play. UMHB has also lost three of its last four matches after opening the season 5-0-1. The Choctaws improve to 10-3 overall and 5-2 in ASC play with the victory.
Mississippi College scored what proved to be the game's only goal when Ben Cross headed home a corner kick from Logan Jones 38:48 into the first half. The Cru would struggle to create offensive chances and were held to just four shots in the match. MC would outshoot UMHB 13-4 and
Adam Cecil had one save in goal for the Cru. Robert Jackson posted three saves in recording the shutout in goal for the Choctaws.
The UMHB men will now return home to host McMurry University and Hardin-Simmons University next weekend. Those matches will start at 3:00 PM on Friday and Saturday and will be the final home matches of the season for the Cru.
