Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team will get its first look at the University of Redlands when the Cru plays host to the Bulldogs in an NCAA Division III National Championships First Round game Saturday in Belton. UMHB is 10-0 on the season and enters the postseason ranked third in the country by the American Football Coaches Association and fourth in the nation by D3football.com. UMHB is in the postseason for the eighth straight year and the Cru joins Mount Union as the only Division III programs in the country to have won at least one playoff game in each of the last seven years. Redlands is 8-1 on the year and enters the game ranked 14th in the nation by both the AFCA and D3football.com. The Bulldogs are making their sixth appearance in the NCAA Division III National Championships but are still looking for the program's first postseason victory. The two teams will be meeting for the first time and the Cru will be playing its first game against a program from the state of California.

“What a great experience for our players to face a team we've never seen before,” Cru head coach Pete Fredenburg said. “I think it should be a great experience for Redlands to make this trip to. I am excited for our players and coaches to have this opportunity and we know we have to be ready for a real challenge on Saturday.”

Saturday's game will kick off at 12:00 PM and tickets will be available at the gate. All reserved tickets are $8. General admission tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for students and seniors. There will also be live video streaming, live audio streaming and live statistics of the game. The winner of Saturday's game will advance to face the winner of the McMurry University/Trinity University game in the Second Round next Saturday. If UMHB wins this Saturday, the Second Round game should be played at Tiger Field in Belton. If Redlands wins Saturday, the Second Round matchup would likely be played on the home field of the winner of the McMurry-Trinity game.
