Pineville, LA – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor softball team could not get the offense untracked as the Cru dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Louisiana College Saturday afternoon in Pineville, Louisiana. UMHB lost game one 1-0 before falling 8-0 in the nightcap of the twin bill. The Cru falls to 11-9 on the season with the two losses. The Wildcats improve to 17-3 on the year with the two victories.

UMHB could not take advantage of Erica White's brilliant pitching performance in a 1-0 game one loss. The Cru ace allowed just three hits, but all of them came in the bottom of the second as the Wildcats put the game's only run on the board. UMHB would load the bases in the top of the second with one out, but could not push a run across. The Cru also had a runner in scoring position in the top of the first but left a total of seven runners on base. White retired 13 of the final 14 batters she faced and finished with a three-hitter while dropping to 5-1 on the season. She struck out three and walked just two, both of them in the first inning. Ashton Feight had two of the Cru's three hits in the loss. Rene' Schwartzenburg raised her record to 9-1 with a three-hitter for LC.

UMHB never recovered from an early deficit in the 8-0 loss in game two. LC put three runs on the board in the bottom of the first and added two more in the bottom of the second. The Wildcats would then score three more in the bottom of the sixth to end the game on the run rule. Caitlin Bollier was 3-3 for the Cru, but the rest of the team combined for just two hits. Ariel Kemmerer took the loss for UMHB to drop to 2-3 on the season. Kelly Williams picked up the win to move to 6-2 for LC with a five-hit shutout.

The Cru will return to action with a return to American Southwest Conference West Division play next weekend. UMHB will travel to Kerrville for a four-game ASC West Division series against Schreiner University. The two teams will play a 5:00 PM doubleheader on Friday before closing out the series with a 1:00 PM doubleheader on Saturday.
