Belton,TX -- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team beat LeTourneau University in the American Southwest Conference game opener 3-0 Friday in Belton. The first half of the game was scoreless for both teams. UMHB goal keeper Adam Cecil has two saves to earn the shutout for the Crusaders. The Cru improve their record to 2-0-1 overall and 1-0-0 for ASC play.
 
The UMHB men took 20 shots on the day. The Cru took a 1-0 lead when Chris Torres scored the first goal at the 55:39 mark in the second half. Torres added another goal off an assist from Kyle White before Alex Perez closed out the scoring off an assist from Torres at the 80:46 mark. Trevor Shoppach had five shots for the Cru while Devin Utley and Chris Torres contributed with three.
           
LeTourneau University had four total shots on the day. The loss brings their record to 1-3-2 overall and 0-1-0 in ASC play. Goal keeper Kyle Davis had six saves for LeTourneau.
 
 The Cru will be back in action with a 4:00 PM kickoff time against East Texas Baptist University at the Cru Sports Plex on Saturday September 17th
