Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's team took complete control over the Tigers of East Texas Baptist University Saturday afternoon with a 6-0 win.
Trevor Shoppach got the Cru out to a quick start with a goal to give UMHB a 1-0 lead at just the 10:25 mark.
Chris Torres contributed another goal assisted by
Coby Duren.
Michael White contributed the third goal for the Cru of the first half. The fourth and final goal of the first half was scored by
Kyle White and assisted by
Nathaniel Fagnant at the 42:45 mark giving the Cru a 4-0 lead over ETBU.
The UMHB offense continued their scoring into the second half when
Trevor Shoppach scored his second goal of the day at the 46:54 mark.
John Williams made the sixth and final goal of the afternoon. The UMHB men improve to 3-0-1 overall and 2-0-0 in American Southwest Conference play.
The Cru posted 18 shots on the game compared to the Tigers 3. Jeff Landrum had two shots for ETBU.
Trevor Shoppach had five shots and
Kyle Dickey took three on the day for the Cru offense. The team will be back in action Thursday, September 22
nd to take on the University of Texas at Tyler. There is a 7:30 PM kickoff time in Tyler.
