Belton, TX— The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team could not find the back of the net as the Cru women dropped a 1-0 decision to East Texas Baptist Saturday afternoon in Belton. The loss drops UMHB to 1-3-1 overall and 1-1 in American Southwest Conference play on the year. ETBU improves to 4-0-1 overall and 1-0 in the ASC with the victory.
The Tigers grabbed a quick lead when Erika Chance scored off Rebecca Davis' corner kick just 1:00 into the match. The Cru would control the second half, but could not find a way to push home the equalizer. ETBU's defense stepped up to preserve the win.
UMHB outshot the Tigers 11-6, but the Cru could not put any of those shots on goal. Christine Aquino posted the shutout in goal for ETBU.
