Women's soccer falls to UT-Tyler

Box Score Tyler, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer fell to the University of Texas at Tyler 3-1 Thursday evening in Tyler. The loss drops UMHB women to 1-4-1 overall and 1-2 in American Southwest Conference play. UT-Tyler improves to 2-1 in ASC play.
 
The Patriots would take a 1-0 lead when Charity Shipman scored off an assist from Lindsey Halbrook at the 18:53 mark of the first half. Jordan Powers scored the only goal for the Cru off a penalty kick at the 44:42 mark. Powers goal ended the scoring for UMHB. The Patriots would go on to score two more goals in the second half to complete the scoring for the game.
 
Jordan Powers and Taylor Bullock both had two shots for the Cru offense. Goal keeper Erica Harris had four saves on the afternoon for the Cru. Emily Bechdol took a total of three shots for the Patriots offense while Lindsey Edwards and Charity Shipman both contributed two. Goal keeper Paige Harris had three saves for UT-Tyler.
 
UMHB took a total of 13 shots on the day compared to the Patriots 14.The Cru women will be back in action Saturday, September 24th to take on Concordia University. There is a 2:00 PM kickoff time in Austin.
