Box Score Austin,TX- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team beat Concordia University 2-1 Saturday afternoon in Austin. The Cru defense kept the Tornados from scoring the entire first half. The UMHB men improve their record to 5-0-1 overall and 4-0 in American Southwest Conference play. The loss drops Concordia to 2-3-1 overall and 2-1-1 in ASC play.
The Cru took a 1-0 lead when
Kevin Johnson scored off a corner kick at the 2:57 mark. It would stay 1-0 into the second half before Concordia tied the game on Kendall Rockers' goal off an assist from Christian Fredrickso at the 84:31 mark of the match. UMHB took a 3-0 lead when
Trevor Shoppach blasted a goal assisted by
Scott Poole. Goal keeper
Adam Cecil contributed two saves for the Cru.
Kyle Dickey had four shots while
Kevin Johnson contributed three.
UMHB had 18 shots compared to the Tornados 10. Kendall Rockers had four shots for Concordia. Goal keeper Jacob Stern contributed two saves for the Tornado defense. The Cru will be back in action with a 7:00 PM kickoff time against Trinity University in San Antonio on Tuesday, September 27
