UMHB WOMEN’S SOCCER FALLS TO CONCORDIA 5-0

Austin- TX- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer lost to Concordia University 5-0 Saturday afternoon in Austin. The loss drops the UMHB women to 1-5-1 overall and 1-3 in the American Southwest Conference. Concordia improves to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in ASC play.
 
The Cru offense took 12 total shots on the afternoon. Eliza Faillace posted three shots while Jordan Powers and Lexy Smith both contributed two for the Cru offense. Meredith West and Erica Harris both had two saves for UMHB.
 
Concordia would take a 1-0 lead when Axita Patel scored off an assist from Chastity Carrillo at the 16:43 mark of the first half. Axita Patel scored her second goal of the game at the 35:39 mark to give the Tornados a 2-0 lead over UMHB. The lead would grow in the second half to 3-0 when Kiera Ruck scored for Concordia. The third goal was assisted by Lena New and Maire Cox. Kiera Ruck scored off an assist by Chastity Carrillo at the 77:00 mark to give Concordia a 4-0 lead. The final goal of the day was Axita Patel's third goal of the afternoon.
 
The Cru women will be back in action Tuesday, September 27th to take on Trinity University. There is a 5:00 PM kickoff time in San Antonio.
