Women's soccer loses heartbreaker to Texas-Dallas

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team put up a late scare Friday afternoon against the University of Texas at Dallas, only to suffer a heartbreaking loss as the Cru dropped a 2-1 decision to the Comets. The loss drops UMHB to a 5-5-1 overall and 2-4-1 in American Southwest Conference action. The Comets improved to 8-4-0 overall and 5-3-0 in conference play.
 
Texas-Dallas took a 1-0 lead at the 57:27 mark when Alissa Burch scored off a pass from Sarah Borg. The Lady Cru responded at the 87:18 when Alison Bullock scored off a corner kick from Maizey Cardy, tying the match at 1-1. With 15 seconds remaining in the game, Texas-Dallas's Juli Saba secured the win with a goal assisted by Eboni Udenze.
 
The Comets outshot the Lady Cru 14-2 in the match. Cardy and Bullock both recorded one shot in the match. Sarah Kathryn Robinson played the entire match in goal for the Cru, recording three saves.  
 
The Lady Cru will return to action tomorrow with a 1 p.m. home kickoff against Ozarks.
