Men's soccer conquers Louisiana College 2-1

Box Score PINEVILLE, La. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team defeated Louisiana College 2-1 Saturday afternoon in Pineville. The win improves the Cru to 10-3-1 on the season and 8-1-1 in American Southwest Conference action. Louisiana College falls to 7-5-2 overall and 4-4-2 in conference play.
 
UMHB took a 1-0 lead when Jeremy Bowler put his shot in the back of the net at the 35:15 mark. Scott Poole added an insurance goal in the 59th minute off an assist from Derek Geels before Louisiana College's Raffi Ferreira added a point for the Wildcats.
 
The Cru outshot Louisiana College 18-15 in the match, taking eight corner kicks to Louisiana College's four. Tyler Pate led UMHB with four shots, while John Williams added three. Blake Lander played the entire match in goal for the Cru, recording seven saves.
 
The Cru will finish the regular season next weekend with home matches against Hardin-Simmons on Friday, Oct. 26th and Howard Payne on Saturday, Oct. 27th. Both games will kickoff at 7 p.m.
