Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team returns to Tiger Field this Saturday after completing the longest regular season road trip in the 15-year history of the program. The Cru will host Texas Lutheran University for a 6:00 PM kickoff in an American Southwest Conference showdown after playing the last three games on the road. UMHB went 3-0 on the road trip and brings a 4-0 overall mark and 1-0 record into Saturday's game. The Bulldogs are 3-1 overall and 1-0 in ASC play after knocking off East Texas Baptist 34-28 last Saturday in Seguin. The Cru is coming off a 76-28 victory at Sul Ross State last week and UMHB has won 12 in a row against Texas Lutheran.
“We know they will be very well-coached and very well-prepared to face us this weekend,” Cru head coach
Pete Fredenburg said. “They are talented and know our system very well, so we need to come out and play our best because we expect to get their best shot.”
The Texas Lutheran coaching staff includes three former UMHB players and coaches in Andy Padron, Mark Carey and Braxton Harris. The Bulldogs only win in the series came in a 34-24 victory over the Cru in the 1999 season finale. The Cru improved to 100-15 all-time in ASC play with last Saturday's victory over Sul Ross and UMHB has gone 95-6 in ASC play since dropping that 1999 game to TLU.
The game will be broadcast locally on KTEM 1400 AM with Jimmy Christopher and George Haffner on the call. The UMHB athletic department will also provide free live video streaming and live statistics for the game. You can access those links through the UMHB athletic department web site at
