Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team posted two more victories to close out the American Southwest Conference Dig Pink Crossover Challenge Saturday in Belton. The Cru opened with a 4-1 victory over Texas Lutheran before sweeping Howard Payne in three sets. UMHB improves to 15-4 overall and 8-3 in conference play.
UMHB posted an 18- 25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-16 victory over Texas Lutheran to start the day at 1-0.
Tina Miller led the charge with 15 kills,
Lauren Powell added nine and
Kendall Pye recorded eight. Pye also recorded 11 assists in the match with
Shelby Prather adding nine of her own. Powell led the UMHB defense with 22 digs and
Kendra Feldmann posted 17 digs for the Cru.
The Cru swept Howard Payne in their second match of the day, 25-14, 25-17, 25-8. Powell and
Sapphire Reid led the offensive charge with eight kills each. Pye recorded seven assists with Prather adding six and Feldmann again led the defense with 15 digs.
Elise Butler and Feldmann each recorded four service aces in the match.
The Cru will return to action Tuesday, Oct. 9
th with a 7 p.m. matchup at LeTourneau.
