Women's Tennis falls to U.T.-Tyler 5-2 in ASC semifinals

Box Score Tyler, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's tennis team made the four-time defending conference champions work hard on their home court, but the Cru fell to U.T.-Tyler 5-2 in the semifinals of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Saturday in Tyler. The loss ends the season for the UMHB women at 12-6 on the spring. U.T.-Tyler improves to 17-4 overall with the victory and advances to tomorrow's championship match at 3:30 PM.
 
The Patriots posted wins at #2 and #3 doubles before UMHB's Megan and Mallory Aarhus recorded an 8-6 victory at #1 doubles in a match that took nearly an hour and a half to complete. U.T.-Tyler would take #5 singles and #6 singles. Mallory Aarhus then claimed a straight set victory at #2 singles before Tyler won #3 singles to clinch the win.
 
The Cru women were making their third straight appearance in the ASC Tournament Semifinals. The loss also closes out the stellar playing careers of UMHB seniors Megan and Mallory Aarhus.
