Barry Elkins his first victory as UMHB women's soccer coach. The Pirates fall to 0-2 on the year with the loss.
The game was scoreless into the second half as the two teams combined for just six first-half shots.
Ashley Teague would break the tie off an assist from
Eliza Faillace at the 58:50 mark. Southwestern would have a prime chance to tie the game, but the Cru blocked one shot out of bounds and
Sarah Kathryn Robinson finished with two saves to post her first shutout at UMHB. The Cru out shot Southwestern 11-8 and had five corner kicks compared to two for the Pirates.
The Cru will return to action with another home game on Monday night. UMHB will host Huston-Tillotson for a 7:00 PM start at the Cru Sports Plex.
