Women's soccer rolls over Schreiner 5-0

KERRVILLE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team scored five second-half goals Monday at Schreiner to earn the Cru their first conference win of the 2012 season. The Cru advances to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in American Southwest Conference action, while Schreiner drops to0-5-1 on the season and 0-2 in conference.  
 
Camryn Powell scored the game-winning goal for the Cru less than a minute into the second half off an assist from Jordan Powers. Powers put her own shot into the net in the 48th minute, then assisted Ashley Teague for UMHB's third goal at the 49:46 mark. Jasmine Austin scored the remaining two goals in the game off assists from Alison Bullock and Megan Purswell.
 
UMHB outshot Schreiner 23-2 and did not allow a shot in the first half. UMHB took 12 corner kicks in the match while goalkeeper Sarah Kathryn Robinson recorded one save. The Cru advances to 13-3-2 overall against Schreiner and 5-3-1 in Kerrville.
 
The Cru will return to action Thursday, Sept. 20 when they host East Texas Baptist at the Cru SportsPlex at 5:30 p.m.
