BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer held off a strong second-half offense from East Texas Baptist University, walking away with a 1-1 tie after two overtime periods. The tie gives the Lady Cru a 4-2-1 overall record and 1-1-1 record in American Southwest Conference play. The Tigers walk away with a 3-2-1 overall record and 1-1-1 record in conference action.
 
Camryn Powell gave the Lady Cru an early lead, scoring off an assist from Jordan Powers at the 12:42 mark. UMHB maintained possession for most of the first half and did not give up the tying goal until the 64:45 mark. A strong defense effort from the Lady Cru contained the Tigers to just one goal on 13 shots in the second half, leading the match into double-overtime play. Neither team was able to put a shot in the net during overtime, ending the game at 1-1.
 
ETBU outshot the Lady Cru 19-14 in the match. Jordan Powers and Ashley Teague led the Lady Cru with four shots a piece. Sarah Kathryn Robinson recorded eight saves and allowed just one goal. UMHB took five corner kicks to ETBU's four.  
 
The Cru be on the road next weekend with a game against Texas-Tyler on Friday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. and LeTourneau on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 4 p.m. UMHB will return home Oct. 5 for a 5 p.m. kickoff against Concordia.
