Longview, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team overcame a muddy field to beat LeTourneau University 2-0 Saturday afternoon in Longview. The UMHB women improve to 5-3-1 overall and 2-2-1 in American Southwest Conference play with the win. The loss drops the Yellowjackets to 0-10 overall and 0-4 in the ASC on the season.
The Cru grabbed a 1-0 lead on
Darla Gregory's goal in the 23
rd minute. It would stay that way into the second half before
Jordan Powers added an insurance goal for UMHB. The Cru defense held LeTourneau to just six shots in the match as
Sarah Kathryn Robinson posted the shutout in goal.
The Cru women will now return home to take on Concordia Texas on Friday, October 5
th. That match will start at 5:00 PM as the opener of a doubleheader at the Cru Soccer Fields.
