Belton, TX - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team jumped to an early lead with a first-half goal, defeating Huston-Tillotson 1-0 Monday night. The Lady Cru advances to 2-1 on the season and 2-0 at home, while Huston-Tillotson falls to 0-2.
Ashley Teague scored her second game-winning goal for the Lady Cru at the 15:02 mark with an assist from
Nathallie Morales and
Maizey Cardy. UMHB outshot Huston-Tillotson 21-3, keeping the ball in Huston-Tillotson territory for the majority of the second half to preserve the win.
Sarah Kathryn Robinson and
Jasmine Austin split time in the goal to post the second consecutive shutout for the Lady Cru.
UMHB will travel to Tyler, Texas to face Texas College in a 4 p.m. match on Thursday afternoon. The team will not return to the Cru SportsPlex until Sept. 20th when they kickoff against East Texas Baptist University.
