Men's soccer falls to Texas-Dallas

Richardson, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team dropped a tough 6-2 decision to the University of Texas at Dallas Thursday evening in Richardson. The loss dropped the Cru to 3-7-2 on the season and 1-3-2 in American Southwest Conference action. The Comets moved to 10-0-3 overall and 4-0-2 in conference play.

Jonathan Hernandez gave UMHB an early 1-0 lead in the 10th minute with an assist from Kabutey Ebeheakey. Scott Poole extended the Cru's lead to 2-0 in the 17th minute off an assist from McKenna Cook. The Comets responded late in the half, giving UMHB a 2-1 lead at halftime. The Comets played a strong second half, scoring five goals to give Texas-Dallas the 6-2 victory.

Cook and Hernandez led the Cru with four shots each for a team total of 17. The Comets outshot the Cru 28-17, with 17 of those 28 coming in the second half. Blake Lander played the entire game in the net for the Cru, recording six saves. UMHB put 11 shots on goal and took four corner kicks in the match.

UMHB returns to action Saturday with a 3 p.m. match at the University of the Ozarks. The Cru returns home next weekend, with a 7 p.m. match Friday, Oct. 25th against the University of Texas at Tyler.
