Women's Soccer edges Ozarks 1-0

Box Score

Clarksville, Arkansas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team grabbed an early lead and then made it stand up as the Cru posted a 1-0 victory over the University of the Ozarks Saturday in Arkansas. UMHB improves to 11-2 overall and 5-2 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. Ozarks fall to 6-10 overall and 1-6 in the ASC on the year with the loss.

Kathryn Parker would beat Ozarks keeper Codie Freeman one-on-one 9:29 into the match for her tenth goal of the season. That would prove to be the only scoring in the match as the UMHB defense limited the Eagles to just one shot in the match. Abbigail Minnix would post a save on that shot to preserve the shutout. The Cru women had 16 shots and Freeman recorded six saves in goal for Ozarks.

UMHB will now return home for the final two home matches of the season next weekend. The Cru will face U.T.-Tyler on Friday before taking on LeTourneau University on Saturday at the Cru Soccer Complex. Matches will start at 5:00 PM each day.
