Men's soccer drops decision to U.T.-Tyler

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team fell 3-0 to the University of Texas at Tyler Friday night in Belton. The Cru falls to 3-9-2 on the season and 1-5-2 in American Southwest Conference action while the Patriots improve to 7-2-4 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play.

The Patriots grabbed an early lead after Brandon Severyn scored off a corner kick in the third minute and David Lopez-Molinar found the back of the net in the fifth minute. The Patriots held that lead into halftime, before finding the back of the net again in the 57th minute for a 3-0 lead.

Jonathan Hernandez, John Williams, Jordan Freeman and Hamilton Howard all recorded shots for the Cru. UMHB totaled four shots to the Patriots' 10. Blake Lander played the entire game in the goal, recording three saves. UMHB took two corner kicks in the match.

The Cru returns to action tomorrow with a 7 p.m. match against LeTourneau University in Belton. UMHB will be honoring the seniors of the 2013 team prior to kickoff.
