Women's soccer falls to Hardin-Simmons

ABILENE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team fell 6-0 to Hardin-Simmons Friday afternoon in Abilene. The Cru falls to 7-1 on the season and 2-1 in American Southwest Conference action while the Cowgirls move to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
 
The 15-time ASC champions started the game off strong offensively, grabbing a 4-0 lead over the Cru before halftime. The Cru was able to stifle momentum in the second half, allowing just two goals on 10 shots.
 
Kristen Hoelscher and Allison Porter led the Cru with two shots while Nathallie Morales and Ashley Teague each added one. UMHB recorded six shots, putting five on goal. Courtney Craig took the loss in the net for UMHB. Craig, the Schlotzsky's Lotz Better Player of the Game, recorded six saves, allowing six goals in 90 minutes in the net. Hardin-Simmons took nine corner kicks to UMHB's one.
 
UMHB will return to action tomorrow a 1 p.m. match against Howard Payne University in Brownwood.
