AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's basketball team grabbed an 84-77 victory over Concordia Texas Saturday afternoon in Austin. The win improves the Cru to 2-4 on the season and 2-1 in American Southwest Conference action while the Tornados move to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
The Tornados lead by as many as five points before the Cru tied up the game halfway through the first half. UMHB used a 6-0 run to gain leverage on the Tornados, allowing no-more than a three-point Tornados lead before responding with a 5-2 run in to grab a 44-41 halftime advantage. The game remained a back-and-forth competition before the Cru used an 8-0 run to grab a six-point lead on the Tornados and held that lead to secure the win.
Taylor Tucker led four athletes in double-digit points with a 26-point performance.

Macy Moore and
Alyssa Dean each added 14 points. Tucker was also the leading rebounder for the Cru with 17 boards while
Bridjai Chaney brought down 16.
Chantal Franco recorded a team-high five assists while
Alisha Mosley and Chaney added two steals each. UMHB outrebounded the Tornados 67-35, shooting 36 percent in the contest and 41.7 percent from beyond the arc.
The Tornados were led by Tyler Compton's 33 points while Domonique Liddell added 15 and Margaret Milling added 13. Compton led both teams with seven assists while Milling added six. Defensively, Liddell brought down a team-high 12 boards and blocked six shots. The Tornados shot 37.8 percent in the contest and 64.0 percent from the free throw line.
The Cru will return to action Thursday, Dec. 19
th with a 5:30 p.m. match at Louisiana College and compete in a series of four road games. UMHB returns home Tuesday, January 7
th with a 5:30 p.m. match against the Tornados.
