Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team opened the day with a dominating three-set victory over Trinity University before falling to a scholarship program in a three-set loss to Wayland Baptist to close out the UMHB Volleyball Classic Saturday in Belton. The Cru is now 3-1 on the season following Saturday's split.

The Cru grabbed an early lead and never looked back on the way to a 25-21, 25-23, 25-22 win over Trinity University. The Cru hit .231 as a team and added seven team blocks in the victory. Bianca Patterson led UMHB with 12 kills and Lauren Powell posted 10 kills. Shelby Prather, the Schlotzsky's Lotz Better Player of the Game recorded 36 assists and 15 digs. Kendra Feldmann led four players in double figures in digs for the Cru with 16. Kendall Pye had eight kills, 12 digs, a solo block and three block assists.

UMHB would close out the day with a 25-21, 25-8, 25-11 loss to Wayland Baptist University. The undefeated Lady Queens held the Cru to an .084 hitting percentage in the match. Patterson had five kills for UMHB and Powell, Cheyenne Dowdey and Katrina Kastmo had four kills apiece. Prather posted 12 assists and Feldmann, the Schlotzsky's Lotz Better Player of the Game reached double figures again with 15 digs.

The Cru will now return to action with a trip to the U.T.-Tyler Tournament next weekend. UMHB will play four non-conference matches over two days in that tournament.
