Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team continues it coast-to-coast, season-opening road swing with a trip to Union, New Jersey to face Kean University this Saturday, September 14th. The Cru is 1-0 on the season and ranked #4 in the country by D3football.com after posting a 31-13 victory over the University of Redlands last Saturday in California. Now UMHB travels across the country to the East Coast to face a Cougars team that is 0-1 on the year after dropping a 30-14 road decision to Albright College last Saturday on the road. The Cru committed four turnovers and were penalized 11 times in the victory over Redlands and UMHB will look for improvement going into week 2, in a lot of areas.

"We played hard last Saturday and we were pleased with the effort." Cru Head Coach Pete Fredenburg said. "But there are so many things we can do better. Even things as basic as our stance and positioning. I just think we can get so much better, and we will."

The game is the middle game of a stretch that will see the Cru play its first three contests in three different time zones and comes just a week before UMHB hosts its inaugural game in the on-campus Crusader Stadium. The Crusader Stadium opener will feature the Cru taking on traditional rival and 5th-ranked Wesley College and the coaches are working to keep the team focused on this week's opponent.

"Kean is going to be a challenge for us and we had better be prepared for that," Fredenburg said. "We can't get caught looking past anyone because we will get everyone's best shot each week."

Saturday's game kicks off at 12:00 PM Central Time and will be broadcast on K101.7 FM. The pregame show will start at 11:30 AM. UMHB will also provide a free video stream of the game and Kean will provide live statistics. You can find links to all of Saturday's game coverage on the UMHB Athletic Department web site at www.cruathletics.com.

The Cru leads the all-time series with Kean 1-0. UMHB posted a 34-7 victory over the Cougars in the 2012 season opener in Belton. Saturday's game will also mark the first time the Cru has played a game in the state of New Jersey and will be just the tenth game played in the Eastern Time zone by UMHB.
