Volleyball splits final day at Trinity National Invitational

San Antonio, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team split the final day of play at the Trinity National Invitational, earning a 3-0 win over DeSales University and falling 3-1 to Berry College.

The Cru opened the day with a 25-15, 25-19, 25-17 sweep over DeSales University. Lauren Powell and Bianca Patterson both hit 11 kills, while Sarah Toler added eight and Cheyenne Dowdey added seven. Dowdey also recorded a team-high five block assists. Shelby Prather led the Cru with 25 assists while Kendall Pye added 12. Kendra Feldmann led the Cru defensively with 13 digs. The Cru hit .208 in the match.

UMHB fell 24-26, 29-27, 20-25, 17-25 to Berry College in its second match of the day. Toler hit a team-high 17 kills while Powell added 12. Prather assisted on 28 attacks while Pye added 23. Kendra Feldmann led the Cru defensively with 23 digs, followed by Powell's 21 and Prather's 16. UMHB totaled 56 kills, 89 digs and 6 team blocks.

Dowdey and Toler earned all-tournament honors for their efforts at the two-day event. The Cru will return to action at home Thursday, Sept. 19th in a 7 p.m. match against Our Lady of the Lake University.
