Alpine, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team swept Howard Payne 3-0 in conference action on the campus of Sul Ross State University Friday afternoon. UMHB advances to 14-2 on the season and 3-0 in conference play while the Yellow Jackets fall to 10-5 overall and 2-3 in ASC action.
UMHB took control of the match early, grabbing a first-set 25-12 victory. The Yellow Jackets fought back in the second set, but UMHB was able to earn a 25-19 set win. The Cru went on to take the third set 25-12.
Bianca Patterson led the Cru with 10 kills while
Lauren Powell added six.
Shelby Prather assisted 19 kills while
Kendall Pye recorded six.
Kendra Feldmann led the Cru defensively with 22 digs while Powell added eight. UMHB recorded six team blocks in the match, led by Patterson with one solo block and two block assists.
The Cru will return to action tomorrow with matches against Hardin-Simmons University and the University of Texas at Dallas in Alpine.
