Men's soccer drops 2-1 decision to Louisiana College

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Louisiana College Saturday in Belton. The Cru falls to 2-6 on the season and 0-2 in American Southwest Conference action while the Wildcats even to 5-5 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Louisiana College got on the board first, giving the Wildcats a 1-0 advantage in the 11th minute. McKenna Cook evened the game in the 39th minute off a header into the right corner of the goal. The game remained tied until the 86th minute when Phillip Borde gave the Wildcats a 2-1 advantage and eventually win.

Jonathan Hernandez led the Cru with two shots while five other athletes added one. The Wildcats outshot the Cru 11-8 in the match. Blake Lander took the loss, recording four saves and two goals allowed.

The Cru will return to action next weekend with matches at Hardin-Simmons University on Friday, Oct. 4th at 3 p.m. and Howard Payne University on Saturday, Oct. 5th at 3 p.m.
