Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team routed Louisiana College 5-0 Saturday afternoon in Belton. The Cru improves to 7-0 on the season and 2-0 in American Southwest Conference action while the Wildcats fall to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Kathryn Parker for an early 1-0 advantage in the 11th minute of play. Sophie Sanchez's shot ricocheted off a Louisiana College player for a 2-0 lead in the 26th minute before
Ashley Teague ended the first half strong for the Cru, putting her shot in the back of the net in the 32nd minute and assisting
Jessie Simmonds's goal in the 43rd minute.
Allison Porter was the lone Crusader to score in the second half, using her head off a corner kick in the 86th minute.
Parker led the Cru with three shots while
Irelie Riggle and
Miranda Aleman added two each. Hoelscher, Teague, Sanchez, the Schlotzsky's Lotz Better Player of the Game, and
Maizey Cardy all recorded assists in the match. Abbigal Minnix and
Courtney Craig split time in the goal, facing one shot each. The Cru outshot Louisiana College 12-2 and took four corner kicks in the game.
The Cru will return to action next weekend with matches at Hardin-Simmons University on Friday, Oct. 4
th at 1 p.m. and Howard Payne University on Saturday, Oct. 5
th at 1 p.m.
