Women’s Soccer falls 2-0 to Hardin-Simmons

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Hardin-Simmons Friday afternoon in Belton. The win improved the Cowgirls to 8-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference play while the Cru fell to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in American Southwest Conference action.

Hardin-Simmons' Karissa Olson gave the Cowgirls an early lead in the 14th minute off a corner kick. Julianne Kucera added another goal in the 72nd minute with an assist from Gabby Hadly, giving the Cowgirls a 2-0 lead. UMHB was unable to generate a scoring offensive, giving the Cowgirls the 2-0 victory.

UMHB recorded four shots in the match, with Briana Hester, Kathryn Parker, Nathallie Morales and Kristen Hoelscher each getting off shots. Courtney Craig took the loss for the Cru, allowing two goals and making five saves while facing 15 shots from the Cowgirls. Hardin-Simmons took 10 shots in the contest.

UMHB returns to action tomorrow in a 5 p.m. match against Howard Payne at the Cru Sports Plex in Belton.
