Three different players had two-run singles as LC bunched together five hits and made the most of two Cru errors in the game. The Wildcats added another insurance run on another UMHB error in the bottom of the sixth. The Cru only advanced two runners to third base in the loss as LC pitcher Madison Lachney tossed a complete-game, six-hit shutout to move to 3-4 on the season. Kade Van Norman and Taylor Beavers both had two hits and two RBI for the Wildcats.
Dakota Parsons had two of UMHB's six hits in the game. Nick Bergmann took the loss to fall to 4-2 after giving up four hits and five runs in four and two-thirds innings of work. The Cru committed five errors in the loss.
The weekend series has been moved to Cheatham Park, a public field in Alexandria, due to wet conditions on the LC campus. The two teams will close out the series with a noon doubleheader on Sunday. UMHB will then return home to host U.T.-Dallas for a three-game ASC series next weekend at Red Murff Field.
