Box Score BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 non-conference decision to Concordia Texas Friday night in Belton. The win improved the Tornados to 5-3 on the season while the Cru fell to 3-4.
Concordia's Alejandro Labastida gave the Tornados an early 1-0 lead off a free kick from 30-yards out. Neither team was able to generate another scoring offense, giving the Tornados a one-goal victory. McKenna Cook and Hamilton Howard led the Cru with two shots each, en route to a team-total nine. UMHB limited the Tornados to five shots, led by Labastida's two. Javier Zaragoza made four saves as UMHB's goalkeeper while Nick Martin recorded six saves for the Tornados. UMHB took four cornerkicks and allowed the Tornados just two.
UMHB returns to action Friday, October 3th in a 6 p.m. match at Louisiana College in Pineville.
