Box Score GEORGETOWN, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 contest to Hendrix College Friday afternoon in Georgetown. The loss dropped the Cru to 1-1 on the season while Hendrix improved to 2-1.
Neither team was able to score until the 47
th minute when Samantha Lallas found the back of the net to give Hendrix an early second-half lead.
Amanda Carlough responded for UMHB in the 69
th minute, evening the score at 1-1 for the Cru. Both teams traded offensive surges before Lallas struck again in the 73
rd minute, giving Hendrix the 2-1 lead. The Warriors fought of several offensive attacks from the Cru, earning the 2-1 win.
UMHB outshot the Warriors 21-5, led by
Briana Hester,
Kathryn Parker and
Sarah Rempe with three shots each.
Courtney Craig and
Morgan Prentice split time in the goal for the Cru. Craig played 45 minutes with one save while Prentice played 45 minutes with one save and two goals allowed. UMHB and Hendrix both took two corner kicks in the match.
The Cru returns to action tomorrow in an 11 a.m. match against Whitworth on the campus of Southwestern University in Georgetown.
