th in Tyler.
The UMHB men earned the No. 5 seed in the tournament and open play against No. 4 seed Hardin-Simmons on Thursday, November 5
th at 4 p.m. The winner of that match will advance to face No. 1 seed and tournament-host University of Texas at Tyler at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 7
th. The tournament's other quarterfinal matchup features No. 3 seed Concordia Texas and No. 6 seed Ozarks at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 5
th. The winner of that match advances to face No. 2 seed University of Texas at Dallas on Saturday, November 7
th at 2 p.m. The championship match will be played on Sunday, November 8
th at 1 p.m.
"We are just thankful for an opportunity to continue to play," Head Coach
Brad Bankhead said. "We're excited to get another chance and to be able to play an opponent like Hardin-Simmons. That's always a special game."
Bankhead returns 17 letter winners from last year's squad, including three All-ASC honorees.
Ben Hammonds is back for his senior season with the Cru and leads UMHB in points (13) and goals (6).
Colby Case and
Jorge Marquez also return for their senior season with the Cru. Case has two assists on the season while Marquez has scored four goals and three game-winning goals as a defender. All-ASC selections
Julio Mar and
Case Carnes also return and have combined for five goals this season.
