Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's tennis team will open the spring dual match schedule with a pair of non-conference home matches this Saturday, February 14th. The Cru will face Trinity University in a 10:00 AM match at the Yvonne Li Tennis Center to open the day before closing out Saturday with a 1:00 PM match against LeTourneau University.
The Cru returns six letter winners from a team that finished 11-5 overall and went 8-1 in American Southwest Conference play last spring. UMHB advanced to the Semifinals of the ASC Championship Tournament before falling to U.T.-Dallas. Hannah Warren, Haley Hicks, Angelie Juaneza and Elizabeth Ostroff all return for the Cru women after earning ASC All-West Division honors last season. Paola Nunez and Sarah Sedory also return as letter winners for the Cru this year. Juaneza and Warren were both named to this spring's ASC Preseason Players to Watch list and the UMHB women were picked to finish third in the West Division in the ASC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Following Saturday's play, the UMHB women will play two more non-conference matches next Saturday in Georgetown. The Cru will open ASC West Division play at U.T.-Dallas on March 28th.
