Paola Nunez won 6-3, 6-2 at #6 singles to cut it to 4-3 and keep the Cru's hopes alive. Ostroff jumped out to an early the third set before holding on to win a hard-fought 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 decision at #3 singles, leaving it to the #4 singles match to decide the winner. UMHB's
Haley Hicks battled back from an opening set loss to post a 7-5 win in the second, and the won the last two games to finish off a 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory to send the Cru into the next round.
UMHB improves to 8-8 on the spring with the victory. The Cru will now face Hardin-Simmons University in a 2:00 PM Semifinal match Friday in Tyler. The loss ends ETBU's season at 4-9.
