Football to host Wisconsin-La Crosse this Saturday

Cru and Eagles will be meeting for fourth time

Game Notes

Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team will try to build on the momentum gained in last week's victory when the Cru plays host to Wisconsin-La Crosse this Saturday. UMHB will take on the Eagles in a 6:00 PM start at Crusader Stadium in the third game of the season for both teams.

The Cru is coming off a 65-12 victory over Millsaps College in the home opener last Saturday as UMHB rolled up 605 yards of total offense while improving to 2-0 on the season. The Cru felt much better about its performance than it did follow a 42-3 victory over Ohio Wesleyan in the season opener and now the coaches are looking for the team to take another step forward this Saturday.

"I wanted our guys to realize that we have a pretty special group here," Cru Head Coach Pete Fredenburg said. "They really stepped it up last week and if we can just keep the process going and build from week to week, then we have a chance to do some things this year. We think this group can be pretty special."

Wisconsin-La Crosse is 1-1 on the season following a 51-7 loss to 12th-ranked St. Thomas last weekend. The Eagles opened the year with a 26-19 home victory over Luther College. UMHB has won each of the previous three meetings in this series. Last year's 41-22 victory in Wisconsin is the only game in the series to be decided by more than a touchdown.

UMHB enters the contest ranked #4 in the nation by D3football.com. The Cru has also won 56 consecutive regular season games, 42 straight night games and has never lost a regular season game at Crusader Stadium.
