Tyler, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's tennis team was swept in doubles and could not mount a rally in the singles matches as the Cru dropped a 5-0 decision to East Texas Baptist Thursday afternoon in Tyler. The loss came in a Quarterfinal Match at the American Southwest Conference Tournament.
After the start of the match was delayed three hours by rain, East Texas Baptist stormed out to victories in each of the three doubles matches to grab a 3-0 lead entering singles play. The Tigers then claimed straight set wins at #3 and #5 singles to clinch the victory. The other four singles matches were left unfinished.
UMHB closes out the season with a 4-11 record following the loss. It was also the final career match for lone Cru senior
Elizabeth Ostroff. ETBU improves to 13-4 on the year with the victory and advances to face Hardin-Simmons University in a Semifinal match on Friday. The Cru women were making their tenth straight appearance in the ASC Tournament.
