LONGVIEW, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team swept No. 16 UT Dallas 25-18, 25-19, 25-22 Saturday afternoon at the ASC Crossover in Longview. The win improved the Cru to 14-1 on the season and 6-1 in American Southwest Conference action. The Comets fell to 11-4 overall and 5-2 in league play.
Corinne Novak led the Cru with 12 kills, followed by
Sarah Paolini and
Miranda Klein with 10. UMHB totaled 45 kills on 108 attacks for a .241 hitting percentage.
Natasha Evans anchored UMHB's offense with 34 assists, followed by Klein with six. Defensively,
Haleigh Evans recorded 11 digs with Novak and
Natasha Evans each adding nine. UMHB totaled 42 assists, 46 digs and six team blocks.
Sydney Riordan led the Comets with 10 kills while Emma Wallbrown added eight. UT Dallas hit .084 in the match, totaling 31 kills on 106 total attacks. The Comets added 29 assists, 38 digs and seven blocks in the match.
