Basketball teams open five game home stand Saturday

Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's and women's basketball teams open an extended home stand with a key American Southwest Conference West Division doubleheader this Saturday. Saturday's games kick off a stretch that will see the Cru men and women play five games in a row at the Mayborn Campus Center.
 
UMHB will play host to Concordia Texas in Saturday's doubleheader with the women's game set for a 2:00 PM tip-off and the men's game following at 4:00 PM. The Cru women will hit the floor for the first time since having a ten-game winning streak snapped with a loss at McMurry last Saturday. UMHB is 14-3 overall and tied for second place in the ASC West Division with a 7-2 conference mark. The Cru is the highest scoring team in the league and guard Hannah Holt is leading the ASC in scoring at 18.0 points per game. Kendall Rollins is fifth in the league at 15.1 points per contest. The Concordia women are 7-9 overall and 3-5 in ASC play going into Saturday's game. Jaela Dejean leads the Tornados at 12.6 points per game.
 
The UMHB men are 12-5 overall and have a 5-4 mark in the ASC on the year. The Cru has won eight of its last ten games and are in third place in the ASC West. Demarius Cress is leading UMHB in scoring at 16.1 points per outing and LaKendric Hyson is scoring 15.4 points a game. Justin Gammill is currently fifth in the ASC with 8.1 rebounds per game. Concordia has a 12-4 overall record and the Tornados are just ahead of UMHB in the ASC West Division with a 6-2 conference mark. Concordia leads the ASC in scoring at 94.6 points per game with Joe Neal scoring 19.0 points per contest.
