ABILENE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team grabbed the lead in doubles, but could not hold off Hardin-Simmons in singles play as the Cowboys edged the Cru 5-4 Saturday in Abilene. 
Robert Galligan and 
Brian Martin teamed for an 8-6 win at #1 doubles and 
Cole Weiss and 
Jace Mahan added an 8-4 win at #2 doubles. Martin took #4 singles 6-3, 6-4 and Galligan added a gutsy 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(3) victory at #5 singles, but HSU won the other four matches to narrowly clinch the win.
 
UMHB finishes the regular season at 4-7 overall and 3-3 in American Southwest West Division play. Hardin-Simmons improves to 6-11 overall and 5-0 in the ASC West with the victory. Both the Cru and Cowboys have clinched berths in the ASC Championship Tournament.
