ALPINE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's tennis team picked up three wins but could not claim the match as the Cru fell to Sul Ross State 6-3 Friday afternoon in Alpine. UMHB drops to 0-5 overall and 0-1 in American Southwest Conference West Division play with the loss. The Lobos move to 4-8 overall and 1-0 in the ASC with the victory. The Cru picked up wins from
Payton Burk at #3 singles,
Marcella Lancon at #6 singles and from Lancon and
Katie Cagle at #3 doubles in the match.
The Cru will now return home to open a three-match home stand. UMHB will host Southwestern University for a 2:30 pm dual match on Sunday to open that stretch.
