TACOMA, Wash. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Pacific Lutheran University Friday evening in Tacoma. The loss dropped the Cru to 1-1-1 on the season while the Lutes moved to 1-1-1 as well.
The game remained scoreless until the 64
th minute when Rachel Ross scored off an assist from Liz Griffith to put the Lutes up 1-0. Ellie Johnson capitalized in the 75
th minute, scoring an unassisted goal to put PLU up by two with just over 15 minutes left to play. UMHB was unable to score, surrendering the 2-0 win to the Lutes.
UMHB outshot Pacific Lutheran 12-8 in the match, putting nine shots on goal to the Lutes three.
Emmy McMaude took the loss for the Cru, playing a full 90 minutes with two goals allowed and one save. Natalie Robinson earned the win for the Lutes, making nine saves in 90 minutes of action.
The Cru returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 8
